Message from Baldoyle Badminton Centre

Dear Players,
It is some time since I have been in touch with you. Like yourselves up to recently we have been dependant on updates from the Government/HSE.
Since the 1st phase return, the Leinster Executive have been meeting to plan our way through this and get everyone back on court.
So, the purpose of this email is to let you know what has been happening behind the scenes, though please note we do not yet have a return to play date.

• Application to Sports Council
Al Sport entities must have protocols approved by the Sports Council before they can resume. Badminton Ireland have submitted proposed protocols for Badminton resumption to the Sports Council and we await their response.
• Getting ready to re-open
The leinster Executive are working to ensure that all recommended health & safety protocols in place before re-opening. They are working off the Return to Work Safety Protocol and also following the advice of Badminton Ireland.
• 2019-2020 Season
For those of you who play in tournaments/competitions, it has been agreed to accept that the 2019-2020 season is over and that our energies now need to focus on getting back to play.
• 2020-2021 Season
While the date for opening Badminton across Leinster has yet to be agreed and it might be a while until tournaments will be able to resume. We are planning on the basis that play will resume sooner rather than later.
• Badminton Ireland
Badminton Ireland have assured us that it is their upmost priority to support the centre , firstly by setting out what play will need to look like under social distancing restrictions, and by assisting where necessary.

From here on, we will keep you informed on progress. Rest assured we will give you plenty of notice about the Return date.

As always in this, please be assured that the welfare of our pllayers ,at this time is our highest priority.
