Living with Covid- Level 3 implications for Leinster Badminton

Dear Players

You will be aware that the "Living with Covid" Plan was released by the Government earlier in the week. Badminton Ireland have been working closely with Sport Ireland to ensure that our badminton community works within the guidelines for the different levels of the Plan. Please read BI CEO, David McGill's statement here https://www.badmintonireland.com/news/137569/Living-with-COVID. Currently, all counties in Leinster are at Level 2 of the plan. From midnight tonight, Dublin will move to Level 3.

For the Counties on Level 2, clubs and players can continue to play singles & doubles using the 6-person pod.

For Dublin (Level 3), there are additional restrictions to allow play:

Singles Only
Doubles allowed ONLY if partner is from same household
No Pods allowed
No travel into or out of the County

In addition, everyone in the hall needs to wear a mask when not playing on court.

We understand that this is a challenging time for our Clubs & Players in Dublin. And we understand that you may have additional questions & concerns. We are in constant communication with Badminton Ireland to ensure that we can keep Terenure & Baldoyle Badminton Centres open at this time and will happily work with you to address your concerns.

However, we will be insisting on singles only - unless from the same household. We will also be respectfully requesting that when you are not on court that you will wear your mask.

Please remember to hand sanitise frequently and hopefully, we will all get through this challenging time safely.

David Murphy
Chairperson
Leinster Badminton
